The Last War and development of the Yusei technique: In the closing days of the last war, a research company that worked in the field of psychology, had developed a new method of interrogation. They dubbed the technique the Yusei technique. This technique using a combination of visual and auditory distortion and stimulation would break the subjects’ minds down and result in them being very compliant and sharing all information. The problem was the technique worked almost too well and when the subjects were broken they would then become almost like drones, the Japanese reviving their bushido techniques used these soldiers as kamikaze units when they no longer had any useful information. Following the end of the war and seeing what exactly came of their research the company hid their techniques and scrubbed as much data as they could from the world at large. The technique over time faded into the lost and jumbled history of the last war.

In the years that followed and the world rebuilt, a young doctor by the name of Rachael Healey learned of the technique, she pieced together what she could from the information scattered across the internet and history. She eventually thought she had a working version of the Yusei technique. However, she had no funding and was often stopped by people who knew what he was looking for and prevented her from getting the pieces.

ReginOrg had been slowly amassing power and political clout to lay the groundwork for a corporate country. There was considerable pushback from within its own company against it. Sensing an opportunity, Healey met with the CEO, Richard Reign, and explained the theory and uses of the Yusei technique. He decided to give the doctor the funding she needed and a test subject, an up-and-coming executive named Anastasia "Ann" Hall. Though this subject was going to be influenced differently Reign decided to use a control to test the process on someone as originally intended. His mistress Inga Onai would serve as the control of the process. For the next few months, Hall was slowly subjected to the Yusei technique and slowly but surely fell into the thrall of Reign. Onai was put through it properly and also submitted. Deemed a success Reign was planning the next use of this method.

The zero generation:

Regin had decided to give Healey a job within ReignOrg that was known only to a select few. She was ordered to mold the two women into something better than they were. Hall had done her job of now helping make the plan for what would be known as the Colony of New York a reality. She was then ordered along with Inga to report to a building in the city. Inside they were subjected to nanotechnology injections. Something that even then was considered risky, and minds further enslaved. After some time they returned to Reign as the prototype Servants, 0.1 and 0.2 or as Hall became known as Silver, with Onai better known as Gold.
